     Tip #1 Controlling bouts of anxiety and depression.

Many people are experiencing stress, depression, emotional fatigue, and confusion associated with a lack of direction.

Does this scenario sound familiar? Your work day starts and you are sitting at your desk. You turn on your computer. Suddenly nothing seems to make sense anymore. Your thoughts are racing a mile a minute from one negative scenario to another. If only you had something positive to hold onto. If this has occurred recently you may be experiencing anxiety or depression brought on by an imbalance in your brain neurotransmitters. How did your neurotransmitters get out of balance? Tip #2 Get A Good Night’s Sleep

Many people are only getting six or less hours of sleep each night. If this describes you, you are not alone. Over 75% of Americans are sleep deprived. Sleep is the time when your body regenerates itself on a cellular level. It is essential for optimum health.

Lack of sleep may cause the following symptoms: fatigue, moodiness, depression, adrenal exhaustion, gastro-intestinal disorders, immune disorders, memory loss, weight gain, hormonal imbalances, nervousness, eating disorders, sugar craving and more.

Why are you having a difficult time getting enough sleep?

Tip #3 How to Have More Energy

When you get out of bed in the morning are you still tired? Are you exhausted around 2-3pm in the afternoon and you still have a few more hours of work to do? Are you too tired to have a meaningful social life or get a few hours of exercise each week. If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, you may have a fatigue problem that can be analyzed and corrected easily with a proper assessment.

Why are you experiencing fatigue? In my clinical experience over the past twenty-four years I have diagnosed and treated fatigue syndromes for the following reasons:

  • Emotional Fatigue: I have found that a large number of people have emotional fatigue that is caused by a negative emotional program that was imprinted in early childhood. Think about the last time you experienced anger, worry, fear or any other negative emotion. Did you feel energized by the emotion or did it exhaust you? I have developed methods that can accurately identify negative emotional imprints and help to delete them. This results in higher energy levels and a positive outlook on life.
  • Bio-Chemical Imbalances: Excessive amounts of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenalin may cause your mind to continue racing when you want to sleep. This may cause not only fatigue due to lack of sleep, but also adrenal exhaustion. In addition, certain brain neurotransmitters such as dopamine, gaba and serotonin may be out of balance, causing a low emotional state of mind. This also will create fatigue. I have methods to assess bio-chemical levels such as saliva tests and the Virtual Body Scan. I have also found with a proper assessment certain natural supplements have assisted in rebalancing bio-chemicals and emotions, leading to renewed energy. Welcome to the Anti-Aging Newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is to provide our patients and friends with the latest up to date information in the emerging field of anti-aging medicine.

 

DR. ROBERT’S STRATEGY FOR A SUCCESSFUL FLU SEASON

It is that time of the year again when I receive emails and telephone calls for assistance in treating cold and flu symptoms. I would like to share with everyone my advice based upon almost thirty years of experience in successfully combating the flu. I have extensive experience in herbal pharmacology and created one of the first eclectic herbal extract companies in the 1980’s.

  • I recommend a maintenance dose of 1 capsule daily during flu season of Wellness Formula. This well constructed formula includes many anti viral/bacterial ingredients, including one of my favorite anti viral Chinese herbs, Isatis root and Isatis leaf as well as Echinacea and Goldenseal. In addition it addresses the enhancement of the immune system with immune boosters such as Astragalus root. If you experience symptoms of the flu, increase the dosage to 3 capsules 3-4 times daily.   • If you have a sore throat, I recommend using Throat Ease, which is a throat spray in an alcohol-free base of anti-viral/bacterial herbs. It works great. For sinus infections and blockages, use Nutriobiotic Nasal Spray, with grapefruit seed extract for an anti viral/bacterial/fungal application.
  • A great cough syrup to use is Immune Support Ginger Tonic, which is alcohol free and includes Costa Rican honey, ginger, lemon and more.
  • If you feel that your lungs are weak, I recommend Ultimate Respiratory Cleanse, which is an herbal formulation to support, cleanse, and strengthen the respiratory system including the lungs, throat and trachea, by encouraging the rejuvenation of lung tissue, and purging toxins from smoking, exposure to pollutants and free radicals.

CBS FOCUSES ON SLEEP DISORDERS

Recently, CBS news presented a report on the latest research on sleeping disorders. As part of educating my patients about the many factors affecting aging, I always include sleep disorders as a major cause of degeneration in the physical, mental and emotional body. According to the recent studies, the average American sleeps 6.7 hours a night, while many people get only 4 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep has been shown to affect the following areas: memory, brain speed, cognitive brain function, alertness, reaction time, obesity (reduces leptin levels, which may cause high blood pressure and improper sugar metabolism), and heart disease. The study further attributes the following catastrophic accidents to sleep deprivation: Exxon Valdez oil spill, Chernobyl nuclear meltdown, Staten Island Ferry collision.

In my anti-aging clinical experience, I notice that lower levels of L-Trytophan, a precursor to Serotonin, are usually connected with sleep disorders. My patients have reported excellent results with a pharmaceutical grade tryptophan called L-Tryptophan Complete. I recommend starting with a low dose of one capsule, one-half hour before bed. You may increase the dosage to three capsules if necessary. Patients taking anti-depressants should first consult with their physician before taking L-Tryptophan.

SUPPLEMENT DOSAGE

I recommend the following dosages: Brain Link, an amino acid complex that creates the neurotransmitter link (chemical messengers) for enhanced brain function. If you experience lack of mental alertness in the afternoon, you may repeat the dosage.
